Richard Nelson is currently serving his first term in the Louisiana House of Representatives serving District 89 on the Northshore.

 

After earning degrees in engineering and law from LSU, Richard joined the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. He served for seven years as a State Department Officer, engineer, and diplomat in Washington, D.C., Germany, and the Republic of Georgia. Richard currently runs his own consulting company helping businesses solve their most difficult challenges.

 

Since his election in 2019, Richard has been a champion in the House for limited government, free markets, and limited government.
