About Mike

State Representative - District 27

Mike Johnson has a track record of deeds over words. His lifetime of service to his community and Louisiana ranges from business to education.

Mike, being a small business owner, has lead efforts to support other small businesses by serving as a past president of the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce, the North Rapides Business and Industry Alliance, and a past board member of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry. He has used his business experience to help shepherd pro-business legislation through the Louisiana Legislature.

Mike has also used his business experience to help students and his local education system. He has donated his legal talents to end forced bussing, create school choice, and lead community leaders as chairman of a parish-wide task force on mentoring. To support and help grow his Alma Mater, Mike has served as the chairman of Trustees at Louisiana College and president of the Friends of Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges.

Mike has also been a strong advocate for children. He was the founding president of the Rapides Children’s Advocacy Center and the Central Louisiana CASA and has served as the chairman of Renaissance Home for troubled youth.

His life public service also includes dedicating time and resources to support our law enforcement and better government. He is a past member of the Louisiana State Police Commission, a past commissioner in the Louisiana State Ethics Commission, and a past member of the Republican Central Committee.

Mike's life-long dedication to public service and his broad experience have prepared him to better evaluate and craft legislation to advance and protect our conservative values.
